The old customs of Hunting and Game-keeping have predominantly British affiliations; with one of the most breathtaking Countryside’s and abundant collections of Game, its no wonder rural residents have kept the traditions alive. An event that proud’s itself in exhibiting these long lasting customs is the ‘Newark Robin Hood, Game and Country Show’, which takes place on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th October 2014 at The Newark Showground, Nottinghamshire.
The Main Attractions
This Game and Country show specialises in the great outdoors and accommodates for shooters, gardeners, ramblers, archers, fishermen, gamekeepers, countrymen, and women! A separate area for children and families to enjoy the day is also established inside the Show, with the broad array of attractions catering for all from jousting displays, dog shows, and falconry to archery and Zorbing.The Newark Fair offers activities where you can test yourselves with acute competitions and experiences from the ATEO air rifle range or Clay pigeon shoot. For the more playful or under-aged shooter there is the alternative option of the Paintball Firing Range.
As well as firing ranges the fair offers the Gunmakers Row; a place to stock up on ammunition, equipment, gun slips, outdoors wear and decoying accessories.
A variety of exhibitors will be readily available to accommodate to all visitor’s needs; with top-end manufacturers, distributors and suppliers in the Shopping Marquee, Craft and Gift Village, Fisherman Quarter, and Food and Drink Hall, complete with a ‘how to prepare your game’ display.
For The Dogs
As every Country enthusiast knows, your dog is a vital accomplice on ventures out, and Newark Game Fair offers activities for all dogs who attend the event. With Lurcher and Terrier races courtesy of Paddy and the Coursing Crew, a Gundog training and advice arena withGundog demonstrations from expert Stephen Hood, NOBBS professional gundog scurry, professional Ferret demonstrations from Simon Wakefield of Pakefield Ferrets, and an All About Dogs Zone.
